In a fog

First came the rain, then the fog. A heavy blanket fell on Floyd Monday afternoon as  a prelude to evening showers as a final part of a deluge that dropped four inches or more on the region since Sunday.

Street faces

On Friday nights in Floyd, the street is the scene and the people are the stars.

Quilts and music at Floyd Harvest Festival

The quilters worked inside the Floyd Country Store Friday as musicians Bernie Coveney, Chris Luster and Rob Neukirch played on stage during the fall Harvest Festival.

Although rain dampened the spirits during the afternoon, the festival drew a large crowd during a morning breakfast and for most of the cool September day.

Both the photo and video were shot on a Droid X cellphone.
